Burst Water Pipes and Blocked Drains
It is common for an internal drain blockage to be caused by a build up of hair, grease, or paper that doesn't breakdown. To unblock the drain try using a plunger, but if that is unsuccessful then calling a licensed plumber may be necessary. In some cases, water pipes can burst which can cause serious damage to your property. If that happens, we recommend turning off the water at the meter on your property then calling us to assist.
Burst Water Pipes:
When a water pipe bursts, a licensed plumber first shuts off the main water supply to prevent further flooding. They then inspect the damaged pipe to identify the cause of the burst, such as freezing, corrosion, or pressure buildup. Depending on the extent of the damage, the plumber may repair the pipe with a patch or replace the damaged section entirely. Once the repair is completed, the plumber tests the system to ensure there are no leaks and restores the water supply.
Blocked Drains:
For blocked drains, a plumber begins by identifying the location and cause of the blockage, which could be due to accumulated debris, grease, hair, or foreign objects. They may use specialized tools like a drain snake or hydro-jet to clear the blockage. In more severe cases, they might use a CCTV camera to inspect the inside of the pipes and determine the exact cause. After clearing the blockage, the plumber will flush the drain to ensure proper flow and check for any potential damage that might need further attention.
By promptly addressing burst pipes and blocked drains, plumbers help prevent water damage and ensure the plumbing system operates smoothly.
